High Blood Pressure Treatment

Chinese Herbology treats high blood pressure and hypertension without side-effects

If there is one distinguishing feature that makes Chinese herbal therapy worthy of consideration for treatment of hypertension/high blood pressure — it is the fact that unlike Western prescription drugs — Chinese herbs do not cause the user to experience the undesirable side-effects associated with the Western pharmaceutical remedies for hypertension and high blood pressure.  Well known side-effects from pharmaceutical drugs such as fatigue and urinary frequency are secondary to the chief complaint which is an overall decrease in libido in both men and women, as well as varying degrees of impotence in men — all of which is never an issue when taking Chinese herbal therapy!

Fortunately, when blood pressure is closely monitored and a strict regimen of Chinese herbal therapy is undertaken, the transition from Western pharmaceutical medicine to Chinese herbal therapy is a smooth successful change that allows the user to escape from the dreaded symptoms of Western hypertension medication.

What is the cause of hypertension? Tobacco smoking, a high-fat diet, obesity, lack of physical exercise, and stress are considered common causes or at the very least significantly increase the risks of developing hypertension. Possible complications of untreated hypertension include stroke, heart failure, kidney damage, and retinopathy (damage to the retina at the back of the eye).

What are the symptoms? Hypertension generally goes undiscovered until it is detected by a physician during a routine physical examination; symptoms include headache, dizziness, ringing in the ears, flushed face, irritability, and vertigo.

What changes should you make? Although discontinuing tobacco smoking, decreasing the amount of alcohol consumed, and the restriction of salt intake can all be helpful.  Stress reduction is probably the most over looked but effective method of lowering one's blood pressure.  The practice of Chi Kung (invigorated breathing exercises), and adjunctive Chinese herbal therapy are both highly recommended for managing stress and hypertension/blood pressure.

Using Chinese herbs you can win the battle against hypertension.  Over 60 million American have high blood pressure, many of those are overweight and inactive. While scientists debate the specific cause of high blood pressure, one thing is clear — that the combination of exercise, proper nutrition and using Chinese herbal supplements will help your body maintain its proper blood pressure levels!
